Quelques nouvelles de l'épaule...

Les choses SEMBLENT s'améliorer. Je ne veux pas jeter de mauvais sort sur ça, mais mon chiro commence à régler des choses. Je pense.
Comme je dis: demeurons neutre, ne nous emballons pas et soyons joyeusement surpris.

Mais je reprends espoir de revenir en grande pompe à l'écriture.

Quelqu'un lit-il mes trucs ou suis-je seul?

Je commence une liste de dix disques à amener sur une île déserte. C'est plutôt difficile. Il y en a tant. C'est plutôt injuste. Voir plus bas...

Some news about the shoulder...

Things APPEAR to get better. I don't want to jinx anything, but my chiro seems to be getting somewhere.
So I try not to get too excited and expect to be happily surprised when things do get better.

Hopefully, I'll be back to writing full time soon!

So.. Does anybody read this stuff or I'm all alone?

A little something about skill points for small groups...

Skills :

For a group with few players (two or three), cross-class skills are maxed at half the class skills maximum, but may be bought at the cost of a class skill.

And there you go!

D&D - Optional house rules...

Well, my shoulder still hurts... Slowing things down to a crawl on the writing front...

BUT,

I thought I might share some house rules I made up for D&D... (please cut and paste...)

Character Classes:

- For a group with few players (two or three) and lacking in diversity (ex: no rogue or cleric), a character may ‘’multi-class’’ at 1^st level and every level divisible by 5 after that by adding another class like a template to her character.

- So a 1^st level sorcerer character could become a 1^st level sorcerer / 1^st level rogue. Her main class is sorcerer and she uses the sorcerer’s BAB and saves, but for this level, she has access to the rogue’s skills too for that level.

- She also gains the rogue’s class features for that level (Sneak Attack + 1D6, Trapfinding).

- Then at 5^th level, the character becomes a 5^th level sorcerer / 2^nd level rogue. She has access to the rogue’s class skills for that level and gains the Evasion ability.

Drôle de pensée...

J'ai mal à l'épaule droite (probablement à cause de l'utilisation de la souris au bureau...) Grr...

Mais là n'est pas la raison de ma dérive intellectuelle. Je me suis rendu à l'évidence que je devais prendre quelque chose pour la douleur. Je n'aime pas tellement prendre de pilules ou de médicaments à moins d'en être obligé. Loin de moi le chimique si je le peux.

Donc, je prends un médicament quelconque. Je croyais que ce n'était que pour la douleur, mais la gentille pharmacienne me dit que cela guérit l'inflammation aussi...

Je me questionne.

Comment ce médicament vendu librement, pour l’inflammation et autres trucs, SAIT qu’il doit traiter mon épaule? Et non mon pied, disons.

Hum… Étrange.

On n’arrête pas le progrès.

Strange thought.

Because of my mouse on my work computer, my right shoulder hurts. Grr…

But that’s not what I am wondering right now. I am at that point where I need a pain reliever. I’m not too fond of taking pills or medication, but when you have to, you have to.

So, I am taking this medication. I thought it was just a pain reliever, but the nice pharmacist told me it also heals the inflammation…

I wonder.

How do these over-the-counter pills KNOW they need to treat my shoulder? And not, for argument’s sake, my foot.

Strange.

You just don’t stop progress.

Some interesting news about publishing...

I sent a query to a small (or is it just a smallish?) publisher the other day about a D&D concept that I developed ages ago. Well, lo and behold, it turns out the guy is interested in seeing my article.

He did not promise me to run it, but wants to see it (which makes sense).

I think this is pretty cool and I’m happy that my idea is original enough to warrant his interest. (This is the first time I try this, yes I am a late bloomer and have nothing to lose yet a lot to gain…)

Now I just re-read my original draft and parts of it suck! :) If I can just confine myself to what I need, streamline the beast and trim excesses, I think it might just turn out the right way. One of my problems at the moment is having too many ideas (not all good ones I’m sure). So brainstorming is underway and even though I have two or three months to finish this I am hoping to do this within the next week and then do some play testing.

J'ai pris une décision à propos de la langue du journal...

Ce que me semble pertinent dans une langue ne l'est possblement pas dans l'autre.

À partir de maintenant, j'ajouterai mes commentaires en français OU en anglais tout dépendemment du sujet. Ce qui devrait me donner plus de temps aussi... Temps consacré à la traduction.

Ceux qui voudront une traduction spécifique n'auront qu'à me contacter!

I am looking for gamers.

I lost quite a few players due to moves (one as far as China!) in the last year...

I am living on the South Shore of Montréal, Québec.

It might be Ravenloft (with probably a bit more action) or Masque of the Red Death (LoXG style, a bit more steampunk) (Or even Ptolus RL style!)

Yes I am looking for players with me being DM.

And this is table top.

It could be in French or English.

Je vais tenter de finir la 1e version de mon 3e chapitre ou nouvelle... Bonne nuit!

Après avoir tenté d'écrire un roman (j'étais rendu à plus de cent pages), je me suis donné une claque, délaissé la Littérature avec un grand L et remis à la petite nouvelle fantastique. Mon seul problème: j'ai une très longue histoire à raconter. Donc, j'ai décortiqué le tout et l'ai séparé en petits épisodes. C'est nono. Je sais. Mais ça fonctionne très bien jusqu'à maintenant.

J'en parlerai plus en profondeur une autre fois.

I'm off to finish the first draft of my third chapter (or short story)... Good night!

After trying to write a novel (I had over 100 pages), I slapped myself a little, let go my aspirations of ''real'' Literature and went back to cool fantasy short stories. My only problem: I have a very long story that just wants to be told. So, I split it in smaller arcs. Dumb. Yes. I know. But, it's working out very well so far.

I will tell more about it another day.
